Former Eagles forward Bell signs with Islanders
SYDNEY — The Charlottetown Islanders have snagged a former Cape Breton Eagles
forward for the 2023-24 season.
Kian Bell of Fall River, N.S., recently signed with the team for the upcoming Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season after playing last year with the Battlefords North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
The 19-year-old posted an impressive 54 goals and 102 points in 51 games with the North Stars in 2022-23.
Along with his 100-pointplus season, Bell also added 16 goals and 25 points in 13 playoff games, helping his team win the Saskatchewan championship and securing a spot in the Centennial Cup national championship in Manitoba.
Bell, a 13th-round pick by the Eagles in 2019, played one full season in Sydney posting eight goals and 14 points in 55 games during the 2021-22 season. He also appeared in nine games in 2020-21 and had a goal and two points.
